The African Parent was born from a simple but powerful idea: African families deserve a space where their voices are celebrated, their cultures are honoured, and their parenting journeys are understood.
Founded by Anne-Rose Obidi, a mother, advocate, and change leader. The African Parent began as a response to a gap many of us felt: the need for culturally grounded, supportive parenting spaces. Understanding that parenting is a universal endeavour, but it takes on special meaning in an African context. It’s a journey that often involves extended families, age-old customs, and a deep connection. The African Parent is here to honour and explore these remarkable aspects of African parenthood to stand by you, support you, and empower you every step of the way.
Today, we are a growing, global community dedicated to empowering, educating, and uplifting Black and African families everywhere.
